In John 12:44–50, Jesus speaks publicly near the end of His ministry on earth. He explains that anyone who looks at Him and believes in Him is actually looking at and believing in God the Father who sent Him. Verse 46 is a summary of His mission: He did not come to condemn the world, but to offer a way out of spiritual ignorance into God’s truth.
