In the New Testament, Revelation 16:12, an angel pours out the sixth bowl judgment, supernaturally drying up the Euphrates River so that “kings from the east” can march across dry land in order to gather for a .
It is drying of the Euphrates River resulting from the sixth bowl judgment, and a warning of what it ushers in (Armageddon) that inspired, “When the River Runs Dry.”
