Happy Easter – He is Risen!

Greetings Beloved,

I wish a gloriously happy Easter to you and your loved ones.

Growing up in our family, Easter usually meant candy and bunnies, pretty dresses for little girls and little man suits for little boys, and, of course,  a mandatory trip to church.  The Jesus I loved as a child wore a white robe and answered prayers and loved little children.  I knew He was real but I did not understand that the very Son of God came to earth to pay a debt he did not owe so that I (we) could be restored to the Father.

This year, 2021, I am particularly grateful for the life I have been given and for each breath of life He continues to give to those I love. We have endured, along with the entire globe, a year of shaking that seemed endless at times.  Winter had the entire world in a death grip. Yet, spring has arrived again and with it, so does new hope…. not in vaccines (for which I am grateful) but in His promise to be an ever faithful God no matter what storm is raging.

May God continue to keep you, and those you love, through these changing times, and draw you close so that you may enjoy the fullness of His grace.

“Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him.” Romans 6:8-11

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”  John 3:16

“If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”  Romans 10:9

“Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.” John 11:25

“Don’t be afraid! I am the First and Last. I am the living one. I died, but look–I am alive forever and ever!” Revelation 1:17b-18a

“Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'”  John 14:6

“For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.”

Thessalonians 4:14

Note: The pictures above are a small sampling of watercolor cards I recently sent to family and friends. I kept most of the cards simple, with an empty impressionistic cross painted on the front.  I added a unique scripture to each card so that (hopefully) my card will have a special meaning to the recipients.
